UPM Raflatac is supporting its customers and brand owners to meet their climate targets through its innovative and more sustainable labeling solutions. Raflatac was proud to be the first to commercially present Total Phenol Free thermal paper labels made with 100% recycled fibers to the market.
“Our thermal paper labels maintain the same functionality as the less sustainable options out there. The barcodes are readable, and the label adheres well to different types of packages which makes it a good choice for logistics and retail labeling applications. The printability of the labels is also equal to non-recycled products”, explains Ville Pollari, Director, Business Segment VIP & Prime, UPM Raflatac.
Thermal paper label products made with 100% recycled fibers are FSC Recycled-certified (FSC™ C012530) and are the ideal solution for anyone who wants to stretch sustainable packaging to the maximum, and a perfect fit for our customers and brand owners with ambitious sustainability goals.
“Our FSC Recycled-certified thermal paper labels appear visually to be made from recycled raw materials, without compromising on quality. Making the switch to these labels offers a host of sustainability benefits for both the brand owners and the environment, without any changes needed in the printing or labelling process”, says Pollari.
As a high-end product, thermal labels complement Raflatac’s FSC-certified product offering. By using recycled fibers whenever possible, we can leave virgin wood to be used in even more demanding applications. “Using forest certified raw material is an essential part of ensuring sustainability of label material”, says Pollari. This means the raw material is fiber from sustainably managed forests or other controlled sources, or recycled material.
Brand owners can easily switch to Raflatac’s paper label products made with 100% recycled fibers simply by contacting their label material distributors.
